This Privacy Policy explains how Airline Data Insights ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data when you visit airlinedatainsights.ai (the "Site") or subscribe to our newsletter (the "Newsletter").

We are committed to handling your personal data lawfully, fairly, and transparently, in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (where applicable), and other data protection laws that may apply to you based on where you live.

We collect personal data directly from you, plus limited technical data collected automatically.

Information you provide

  • Email address — required to send you the Newsletter and to manage your subscription.
  • Role or job title — optional information selected at signup (e.g. Pilot, Cabin Crew, Training Manager), used to understand our audience and tailor content.
  • Correspondence — if you email us directly, we keep a record of that correspondence and your contact details so we can respond.

Information collected automatically

  • Standard web server logs (such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring URLs, and date/time of access), collected by our hosting provider for security, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.

We do not currently use cookies, analytics trackers, or advertising pixels on this Site. If this changes, we will update this Policy and, where required by law, ask for your consent before any non-essential cookies are set.

3. How and Why We Use Your Information

  • To send the Newsletter — based on your consent, which you give by signing up and which you can withdraw at any time.
  • To manage your subscription — including processing unsubscribe requests, which is necessary to provide the service you've requested.
  • To understand our audience and improve our content — based on our legitimate interest in producing relevant, useful issues, using your role and aggregated, non-identifying engagement information.
  • To maintain security and prevent abuse — based on our legitimate interest in keeping the Site and our systems secure.
  • To comply with legal obligations — such as maintaining records of consent where required by law.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with:

  • Email service provider — we use a third-party email marketing platform to send the Newsletter, manage subscriptions, and process unsubscribe requests on our behalf.
  • Hosting provider — our website host processes server log data as described above.
  • Legal and regulatory authorities — where we are required to disclose information to comply with a legal obligation, court order, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

Any third party that processes personal data on our behalf is required by contract to keep it confidential, secure, and to use it only for the purposes we specify.

5. International Data Transfers

Your personal data may be stored or processed in countries outside the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area (EEA), including by our email and hosting providers. 6. Data Retention

We retain your email address and role for as long as you remain subscribed to the Newsletter. If you unsubscribe, we retain a minimal record (such as your email address and the date of unsubscription) for a limited period — typically up to 3 years — to honour your unsubscribe request, prevent re-subscription without consent, and comply with legal obligations. Server logs are typically retained for a short period (e.g. up to 12 months) before being automatically deleted or anonymised.

7. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Erase your personal data ("right to be forgotten");
  • Restrict or object to our processing of your data;
  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable format ("data portability");
  • Withdraw consent at any time, with no effect on the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal; and
  • Lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), or the equivalent authority in your country of residence.

8. Unsubscribing

Every Newsletter issue includes an unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing privacy@airlinedatainsights.ai. Once unsubscribed, we will stop sending the Newsletter and will not use your data for further marketing, subject to the limited retention described in Section 6.

9. International Visitors

We apply the standards described in this Policy to all subscribers, regardless of where you are located. If you reside outside the UK or EEA, you may have additional rights under your local law, including:

  • California, USA (CCPA/CPRA): the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information.
  • Canada (CASL/PIPEDA): our Newsletter includes clear sender identification and a functional unsubscribe mechanism in every message.
  • Other jurisdictions: if your local law provides additional rights regarding your personal data, you may exercise them by contacting us using the details in Section 1, and we will respond in accordance with applicable law.

10. Children's Privacy

The Newsletter is intended for working professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
